Why Swellings Occur

Are your feet swollen? Are your ankles swollen? Is your lower eyelid puffy? Are both eyelids puffy? Is your abdomen swollen because of chemotherapy? Are your arms and neck swollen? Is your entire body swollen? Are your knuckles, knee joints, elbow joint, jaw joints, etc. swollen?

Edema is the medical term for swelling. It should not be confused with bloating, and hyperplasia.

Bloating implies that the cavity is filled with gases whereas swelling implies that the tissue is turgid. Turgid means the tissue is filled with fluid. Hyperplasia indicates an abnormal multiplication of cells that enlarged an organ.

I am being detailed in these descriptions because the wrong diagnosis can result in the wrong treatment; with the wrong treatment causing premature death.

The standard allopathic treatment for edema is prescribing a diuretic (water pill). Generally, a diuretic increases urine output without removing the source of the anomaly. Here is what symptometric science recommends as the best steps to identify the sources of edema aka turgidity, before removing them.

The four reasons that explain turgidity are:

  1. The person has stopped producing the hormone called aldosterone and the essential called prostaglandins. They maintain fluid balance.
  • A certain percentage of the membranes have disintegrated and have turned into a mushy fluid. The membranes are the mucus membrane, the serous membrane, the cutaneous membrane (the skin), the meninges in the brain, and the synovial membrane in the joints. It is mineral salts that maintain the integrity of the membranes.
  • The lymphatic system is so loaded with sludge that it is busting at the seams. Sludge is heavy. Therefore, it is sludge that adds additional weight to a person’s weight. Sludge weight is commonly known as “dead weight”.
  • Heart failure. The heart is failing because it is becoming increasingly weak. Usually, it is fat accumulation in the heart (fatty heart) compounded by arteriosclerosis and sludge in the lymphatic system that ends up weakening the heart. As the heart becomes weak, it pumps more water from plasma than hematocrit. It is excess water that a failing heart is pumping that causes ascites, edema of the legs, thighs, ankles, etc.

Of the four causes mentioned above, one should account for a person’s edema. Now that the cause of edema is known what should the remedial action be? The best recommendation is to:

  • Ionize sludge from the lymphatic system
  • Ionize and nourish the cells so that they can produce prostaglandins, and the adrenal gland can also produce aldosterone
  • Provide the membranes with mineral salts
  • Enable the liver to produce a lot of HDL (high-density lipoprotein). It is HDL that will make the plasma membrane of the cells permeable. Then, it is cell permeability that will allow sludge and wastes to exit the cells while nutrients and resources get into the cells. The cells will rebuild the membranes with the nutrients and resources they received. The mineral salts will restore and maintain the integrity of the membranes.

It is the tactical combination of the four-above measures that will remove the source of the edema.

Are there herbs that curb swellings? No, there are none. It is rather the herb’s glycosides that will cause turgidity in a person who cannot produce the enzymes called glycosidases. This should serve as a warning to those who eat raw foods, especially those who cannot produce glycosidases.

Therefore, being told that the brain is swollen, the liver is swollen, the spleen is swollen, etc. should not be a reason to panic or a cause for concern. Just remember that we, the practitioners of symptometric science aka the Doctors of Symptometry, now have the technical know-how that never existed, and the understanding of human physiology that was never shared.
